Mugsworth Holy hell! I checked this album out purely biased on the awesome cover. After further analysis If your not hooked after the first song there is something deeply and profoundly wrong with you. This is quickly becoming one of the best albums I’ve ever had the pleasure to hear and now own. Very well done gents. Damn fine work! Thank you. Cheers!
Weirdo Shrine
Weirdo Shrine thumbnail
Weirdo Shrine their debut Division Rising they perfectly channel early dark post punk like Echo and the Bunnymen, modern psychedelic rock like The Black Angels, and early psychedelica like The Doors (what’s in a name?). The album is a concept studio effort challenging the topic of gentrification and the woes of modern capitalism. Favorite track: Demolition Man.

Crane Song 03:49
Oh, her bridges rise, her waters flow. On her lips the city lights do glow. Underneath the sound of cranes she rose. It’s simple, love, the scene devours domains. Foundations fall and the scene shifts, what remains? It's sad to see this mountain in its place. Unraveled dreams. Definitive. Displaced. The blow, the blow inside, the blow inside. Compounding. The glow, the glow, the glow outside. The glow outside devours me. Disappointment falls like rain. Will love survive this dreary day? I walk upon once quiet streets. Will love survive this bustling greed? Oh, her hills and love runs dry for some. While her eyes for others shine bright, it's gone. The blow, the blow, the blow inside, the blow inside. Compounding. Compounding. The glow outside, the glow outside, devours me. Devours me. The blow inside, the blow inside. Compounding. Compounding. The glow outside, the glow outside, devours me.

Hey oh, the city's on fire. Gods get closer as the skyline gets higher. Demolition, Demolition. Hey oh, the city's a liar. Pockets get deeper as boundaries get wider. Hey oh, the streets grow tired, spirits wither as the day expires. Demolition man, down crumbles the sun. Demolition man, listen - Let us go. Demolition man, down crumbles the sun. Demolition man, silenced by your blow. Fuck no, the city's on fire. Gods get nervous as the skyline gets higher. Fuck no, the city's a liar. Pockets get fatter as communities expire. Demolition man, down crumbles the sun. Demolition man, down crumbles the sun. And the rubble buries us all.

Invincible 03:18
These shadows are full of gray. Light shifting on over our graves. Under the skies of rubbled remains. That we can’t shake, that we can’t shake. City demons decide our fate. Shown a poster of a pretty place. You should have seen it, yeah, you should have seen it. It's empty, empty, empty. No escape. Oh oh oh, get out, get out, get out now. Ah ah ah, get out, get out, underground. Oh oh oh, get out, get out, get out now. Ah ah ah, get out, get out, underground. Illusions sewn of a lucid hope. Delusion’s hold, that's invincible. Our eviction is your religion. Consumed by your velvet hoard. We can not change it, we can not break it. It's piercing, piercing, piercing through our core. Oh oh oh, get out, get out, get out now. Ah ah ah, go now, go now, underground. Oh oh oh, get out, get out, get out now. Ah ah ah, go now, go now, underground. Illusions sewn of a lucid hope. Delusion owned, that's invincible.

The Tunnel 02:47
Balance weighted. It cripples a nation. Lives unwound. Suppressing a nation. Struck by lightning and now we’re blinded. Struck by lightning and now we’re blinded. Stripped by inflation. Stripped by inflation. Struck by lightning. Struck by lightning. And now we’re blinded. Now we’re blinded. Balance weighted. It cripples a nation. Lives unwound. Stretched population. Struck by lightning. Struck by lightning. Struck by lightning and now we’re blinded.

6am alarm clock sings. Raising up from bed. As the day routine kicks in. No mercy in his power. This sycophant. He kills. He kills. As he shaves it cuts and stings. He loves the taste of blood. Another victim of his knife. They’re calling and he’s off. This sycophant. Run by the bank. He greases up his hands to win their praise. This sycophant. Fucked in the backseat. This sick offense controls the state.

All lost, erased, water surrounding. Seeps in the mouth yet nothing to taste. Elongates this drowning in place. One last illusion, the land slips to waste. There's half the mind to scream when drowning in this sea. Choking on a force volition. Gasping on what they define as free. There's no counting casualties. Who pays the fee? Odyssey fails, islands surrounding. Sand under nails yet no ground is there. Their mistep is hollow and vain. One can't see nothing, they're flooding this place. There's half the mind to scream when drowning in this sea. Choking on a forced volition. Gasping on what they define as free. There's no counting casualties. Who pays the fee? There is a man in a cardboard cutout frame. He's lost to the grave.
7.
Goodwill forgotten. This desperate place. To grasp for something from a vacant space. The violation, it rises, it rises. It rises, it rises, the violation, it rises. Huh. They’re sold out. Turned down. Crossfade, and so it goes. So it goes. So it goes. This is bent beyond the break. Broken windows in its place. Oh oh, Oh oh, you see. Exposing cracks in the wall. Goodwill forgotten. This desperate place. To grasp for something from a vacant space. This is bent beyond the break. Broken windows in its place. Oh oh, Oh oh, you see. Exposing cracks in the wall.

Occupation 04:19
Alice dreams beneath the fold. Of a drought in a wilted world. No one, she moves alone. Alice sits in the seams of space. In a squat, because nowhere's a place. Dropped by the boot, it's an occupation. It's an occupation. Sold as our salvation. Lay your head down to rest. And then see, it's an occupation. It's an occupation. It's an occupation. Sold as our salvation. Privileged emancipation. It's an occupation. Alice sleeps in a hollowed dream. Nowhere to set her free. Nowhere to stand at ease.
9.
Ghost Town 03:22
Is anybody left here? Can he still sit here? Can she still vote here? Is anyone left here? For sale. Sale. What’s the cost?
10.
Have mercy on those found tied up in private cells. For reasons of lost affair. Have mercy. Have mercy. There is an inner hell found where no one should stare. Get-out costs are double fare. It's hell. It's hell. It's hell. It's hell. He's in a cell now. She's in a cell now.. They're in a hell now. And, oh, they bleed. Everyone exists in this frame. We're just stacking up shit. When it's enough of a stain. It won't heal with medicine.

Wartime Song 03:35
Sang out today. This wartime song. Sang out today, so much to say, to sound alarms. This symphony is calling me to sing along. The tide is rising, on this call to arms. Come back to life. It's do or die. Once set aside, now is our time. This great divide, class genocide. Once we unite, we'll take this fight. Our silhouettes are dancing in the flames. Now full of life, oh hear our cry. For on this side, we can not die. As we unite, we'll turn the tide. And in our eyes, you see the fight. Our silhouettes rise up from the flames. We'll take you down. Our wartime song. Wartime song. This great divide, class genocide. This great divide, yeah, it must die. This great divide, class genocide. This great divide, yeah, it must die. Wartime song.
